Vampire Weekend, Mates Of State, Crystal Castles and Gogol Bordello are among the acts scheduled to play this year's Popped! Festival in Philadelphia.

The second installment of POPPED!, Philadelphia's multi-venue, indie-centric music festival, will take place June 20-22...without the Roots. Yes, as previously reported, ?uestlove and co. were supposed to curate POPPED! as well as perform their album Things Fall Apart in its entirety at the festival. But something happened (organizers wouldn't comment on exactly what), and now the Roots are busy with their own jam, the Roots Picnic.
However, POPPED! is still on and poppin'. On Friday Jun 20, Slick Rick joins a full band for a little storytellin' session at the Trocadero. Saturday on the Drexel University campus, Vampire Weekend, Dan Deacon, Crystal Castles, Mates of State, Gogol Bordello, Mr. Lif, the Ting Tings, and Hoots & Hellmouth will keep POPPED! fizzin'. And Sunday finds Popped! at World Café Live, hosting performances from Daniel Johnston (backed by Philly locals the Capitol Years), O'Death, Takka Takka, Sam Champion, Tickley Feather, and more.
Vampire Weekend, Justice, TV On The Radio and Band Of Horses are among the bands set to perform at this year's Monolith Festival.

Because, after all, the U.S. is truly wanting for a good-sized outdoor music festival this summer, here comes the 2008 Monolith Festival, invading Morrison, Colorado's Red Rocks Amphitheater September 13-14.
And, as befits a fest named after a really big thing that rocks, well, check out this bill:
Justice, TV on the Radio, Neko Case, Vampire Weekend, Band of Horses, CSS, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Cut Copy, Blitzen Trapper, Holy Fuck, A Place to Bury Strangers, Tokyo Police Club, Akron/Family, John Vanderslice, Colorodo local favorites DeVotchKa, Del the Funky Homosapien, Tilly and the Wall, dan le sac Vs Scroobius Pip, the Kills, Superdrag, the Presets, Silversun Pickups, White Denim, the Cribs, the Ting Tings, the Night Marchers, those Hood Internet jokers, and others form the building blocks of this monolith.
Vampire Weekend have rescheduled their forthcoming live date at the Manchester Academy 2, originally set to take place on May 8.
